The Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) is a federal law to guide all correctional facilities, public and private, including prisons, jails, halfway houses, juvenile facilities, military and Indian country facilities, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities about detecting, preventing, reducing, and punishing sexual abuse/misconduct in their respective settings. 180 Degrees as an organization embraces the culture of PREA throughout its residential facilities with the goal of keeping staffs and clients/offenders safe. 180 Degrees, Inc. has zero tolerance for incidents of sexual abuse, misconduct and harassment. If you know of an incident of sexual abuse, misconduct or harassment that occurred at 180 Degrees, Inc. please report the incident using the steps outlined below:
180 Degrees' prime objective is to ensure a program of education, prevention, detection, and investigation. Punishment for the perpetrator is enforced. The program provides treatment for the perpetrator and the victim and includes ongoing support for the victim, to protect our client population from client-on-client sexual violence and staff sexual misconduct. In addition, the agency provides education to clients about staff sexual misconduct and harassment. 180 Degrees maintains a zero tolerance of sexual assault, abuse, and harassment. This includes client on client, client on staff, or staff on client. Every allegation of sexual violence, misconduct, and harassment is thoroughly investigated. The prohibited conduct identified below applies to all employees, volunteers, and contract staff of 180 Degrees. Sexual conduct between staff and clients, volunteers and clients, and contract personnel and clients is prohibited and is grounds for disciplinary action, up to and including discharge. Further, criminal sexual conduct will be referred to the appropriate law enforcement agency for prosecution.
