We got by with a little help from these friends...
2003
Special
thanks to Unique Property Development for allowing us to salvage
furniture, lighting and garden supplies from their project at
301 Clifton. The sturdy items we received have been welcome upgrades
throughout our residence.
Our participation in the 5K Run for Life was a huge success. With
over 15 runners, 30 business supporters and many, many individual
sponsors, the event brought in $4,500 for our Girls Resiliency
Program [including $500 from Grace Fellowship for being the top
fundraiser]. Thanks to all of the people who helped make this
happen.
As
we continue to work towards a long-term funding solution for our
Girls Resiliency Program, we were given a major boost through
the award of a $10,000 grant from the McNeely Foundation of St.
Paul.
Once
again we’ve received 130 tickets from the Zuhrah Shrine
Circus. Our clients and their families are really looking forward
to this yearly event.
Each
year individuals and organizations step forward to help us in
our mission. In 2003 weve received the following:
In
a wonderful start to the new year we received a $5,000 general
operating grant from Allianz Life Insurance (www.allianzlife.com).
Allianz has been a strong supporter of our programs over the years
with volunteers and donations that have strengthened our efforts
in many ways.
Once
again, through the TwinsCare
Community Ticket Program, we are receiving 100 Twins tickets
in 25 ticket lots as special guests of Jacque Jone’s “Double
J’s Gang.” Go Twins!
This
year, for the first time, we are also part of the TwinsCare Corporate
Ticket program sponsored by United Properties, Cub Foods, Papa
John’s Pizza, Twin City Co-ops Federal Credit Union, Target
and Houston’s Peanuts. We hope this will expand the opportunity
for more of our clients and their families to experience our national
pastime.
To
assist us in adding our data to Minnesota’s CrimNet System
[www.crimnet.state.mn.us]
we were very appreciative to receive a $10,000 grant through the
Minnesota Department of Corrections for data extraction programming
and staff training.
2002
75
circus tickets were donated to our men and their families by the
Zuhrah Shrine Circus [www.Zuhrah.org].
They provided a great afternoon's fun
for all.
The
Wells Fargo Foundation Minnesota - Team Member Community Funding
Council funded the establishment of our Red Wing Transitional
Financial Literacy Program. Financial Literacy is a key element
in a successful re-entry into the community.
Through
the TwinsCare
Community Ticket Program, we are getting 100 Twins tickets,
in 25 ticket lots from Brad and Heather Radke [Brads Bunch].
Go Twins!
Crown
College helped us replace all of our mattresses, 19 beds and
a number of desks and bookcases. Everybodys sleeping better
through their generosity.
